Senior Citizens Recreate Famous Movie Posters For Their 2015 Retirement Home Calendar

Redditor Cocowilde works at the Shenley Wood Retirement Village in Milton Keynes, UK. She had the idea to make a 2015 calendar using OAPs from the village recreating famous movie posters.

"I organised the whole thing based on a suggestion from a resident at the charitable trust for which I work ('Danny' from Grease in the calendar)." she wrote recently on Reddit. "I chose the films/stars along with the residents. I personally acquired the costumes and residents were given creative freedom regarding their poses. Everyone was enthused and we all had a great time making it."

Talking about why she did it she notes, "My job every day is to make sure our residents are having a good time and there is a community available for all those who wish to participate in the various events I run. All the proceeds for the calendar go back into the budget for running future events and activities. We haven't actually made much money from the calendar at all—most people are happy just to view it online. This is not a problem as far as I'm concerned—it's not about profit."
