Child Tells Parents He's Gay, Parents React By Violently Attacking Him

Coming out to your parents is always going to be a milestone in someone's life, so imagine doing that and your parents' response is to completely reject you. That's what happened to 20-year-old Daniel Ashley-Pierce from Kennesaw, Georgia who captured his family's horrid response on video which he then posted to his Facebook page.

Daniel comes from a very religious family, so probably knew it was always going to be tough when he came out to his parents. But the way his mother reacts is just something else. There's no comforting or support, she just flat out starts with rejection.

"Since you have chosen that path, we will not support you any longer," she says. "You will need to move out and find wherever you can to live and do what you want to, because I will not let people believe I condone what you do."

Thanks mom! But then after disowning their son, it only gets much worse which you can hear in the video and which Daniel clarified the day it happened, by posting the following:

SMH. It's utterly heartbreaking to watch and hear such idiocy. But there you have it, some people are just bigots. There is some good that's come out of it though—after the video went viral people set up a GoFundMe page to help support Daniel. Since it was set up a few days ago it's raised $49,038 from donations and counting.

Daniel left the following message on the page:

Oh My you guys! I am in tears! I didn't realize that this was even set up for me! I am so thankful for all the comments, support and donations! I don't even know how to thank y'all! I wish I could give each and everyone of you a huge hug! I was trying to respond to everyone but I couldn't keep up!! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! This is all just so amazing!!!
