With the advent of summer and long days of clear blue skies and endless heat the lure of the outside world grows stronger every day as the weather warms up and fuels our obsession for some R&R.
Lazy days at the lake or the beach with friends, having fun, chilling out and of course, the quest for a perfect tan--It all sounds perfectly wonderful. Just strip off your clothes and soak up the rays.
BUT, don't forget, whatever you do, try to remember the dangers of absorbing too much of those lovely rays.
Suntan lotion is sold for a reason people and the higher the SPF protection, the longer you can stay out in the sun baring your flesh to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Otherwise you might end up looking like some of these poor unfortunates who took their quest for a tan that little bit too far, forgot the first rule of sunbathing and as we all know, spent the next few days in a world of pain.
It hurts just looking at some of these scorched sunburnt bodies.
And if you think the above gallery is bad enough to make you stay indoors this summer it seems there is a scary new internet trend where people are intentionally going out of their way to get sunburnt.
All in the name of #sunburnart. Scary.
