The Oscars 2015 Live Performance Of 'Everything Is Awesome' Is, Well, Awesome

So the Oscars happened. And with the wall-to-wall coverage it received chances are you didn't miss a single breath being made by any of the celebrities who were there. But in case you spent the evening in a cave, there were a few notable highlights from the evening.

Firstly, there was the live version of the "Everything Is Awesome" song from The Lego Movie. The Lego Movie may not have been nominated but it certainly made its presence felt with this performance, which saw Tegan and Sara and the Lonely Island on stage, along with construction workers, Questlove, and Will Arnett himself dressed as Batman. It's pretty much the happiest, best thing ever.

Plus there were awesome Lego versions of the Oscar statuettes handed out during the song. Oprah looked especially happy to receive one.

The other fun thing that happened—and there were only two—was host Neil Patrick Harris walking out on stage dressed in nothing but his underwear. Underwear that didn't leave much to the imagination either.

The excuse was that he was reenacting a scene from the Oscar-winning Birdman, where Michael Keaton gets locked outside a theater in Times Square wearing only his underwear. But I bet he just wanted to be the first man ever to hold court on the Oscars stage half naked in nothing but tiny briefs.
