A Wild Brown Bear And A Wolf Are The Best Of Friends In These Incredible Wildlife Photos

In Disney movies different species of animals are often BFFs and friends, hanging out and getting on regardless of what the brutal reality of nature would have them do. But sometimes life can imitate art. And that's what seems to be going on in these photos taken by Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen.

Rautiainen captured a female grey wolf and male brown bear hanging out each night between 8pm and 4am in his native Finland, for tens day straight, sharing a dinner of deer carcass—and possibly wondering who will voice them in the upcoming Disney adaptation.

Usually bears and wolves like to attack each other, so these BFFs are highly unusual. "No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends," Rautiainen told The Daily Mail.

"I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone. It seems to me that they feel safe being together, and so every evening met up for their dinner. When I realised that no one had observed bears and wolves living near each other and becoming friends in Europe, I concentrated more and more on getting pictures to show what can happen in nature. Then I came across these two and knew that it made the perfect story. It's very unusual to see a bear and a wolf getting on like this. It is nice to share rare events in the wild that you would never expect to see."
