Hodge Huffington Is A Hedgehog With Cute Vampire Fangs And He's Totally Adorable
Think of fangs and you think of vampires, but it's not just the blood-sucking undead that have them. Hodge Huffington the hedgehog has them too and he couldn't be cuter for it.
Adding to his adorability is the fact he's tiny too because he's an African pygmy. And his owner Carolyn from Utah is fond of capturing him in adorable poses like sitting in pots, wearing sunglasses, smiling or gurning. Although she does admit to bribing him to get him to pull goofy faces.
"He doesn't ever smile on his own, I'm just sneaky in how I take his pictures." Carolyn tells The Mirror. "He's a grump and gets anxious if I keep him out too long but he has his good days. When I take pictures of Huff I just try to find the best way to show him off and keep him happy with bribes of mill worms. Hedgehogs have the best expressions when they are yawning or eating but if I can get pictures of him during those I consider myself lucky."
Carolyn took him in after a previous owner returned him, he'd spent the a year living only on a diet of apples and needed some TLC.
"I made sure to do my research before picking him up because I wanted to be sure I could take on the responsibility that comes with taking care of an exotic animal like him-especially one that hadn't seen that much love." she notes.
Now we can all enjoy his goofy face thanks to Carolyn setting up an Instagram account, which she said she did to cheer herself and other people up.
"He's great, a lot of time I'll take him out to cuddle with me while I watch TV or go with me to the park and likes falling asleep in one of my old shirts—that has now become his shirt—and running on his wheel."
