How To Lose Weight In 4 Easy Steps, One Of Which Is Unfortunately Getting Your Heart Broken

Losing weight is never easy, you have to stick to eating a healthy balanced diet, maintain it over a long period, and work out regularly too. And there is no shortage of guides, apps, and workout routines which will aide you in your quest.

Or, of course, you could just get your heartbroken which is what happens to the guy in this very funny video. It's based on a Tumblr post that came out last year written by Aaron Bleyaert who works for Conan O’Brien’s TV show. The post was titled "How To Lose Weight In 4 Easy Steps" and, like the video, starts off serious, advising not to drink beer and to practice portion control, but then takes a turn for the darkly comedic.

Because step number three is to have your heart broken. "And not just broken; shattered. Into itsy bitsy tiny little pieces, by a girl who never loved you and never will." And on it goes, telling you to join the gym and pump weights using the hatred and anguish you feel from the breakup, and from spying on her social media, to fuel your weightlifting and exercise regime.

Keep going, it says, on and on and on, pushing and striving, sweating and lifting. The pounds will go and eventually so will your heartache.

After which, finally, step four is revealed.

Bleyaert wrote the post, which although comedic is based on what actually happened to him, after he shed 80lb sparked by a breakup which pushed him to the gym where he not only got fit, but learned to be patient too—and things really did get better.
