It's that time of year again. That time where you head out into the night with the burden of expectation riding on your shoulders because it's New Year's Eve, which means it just HAS to be the Best. Night. Ever.
Except, it never is. That contradiction is so pertinent it's a cliche, but every year we all do it. We go out expecting an evening of such remembrance that it can never, ever live up to what we hope for. So it always ends the same way. Blind drunk, struggling with other blind drunk people to find your way home amongst bacchanalian disillusion and disappointment.
This Buzzfeed video perfect sums up how the reality doesn't weigh up against our glam expectations. And how both go decidedly opposing ways when it comes to celebrating, or attempting to celebrate, the end of another Gregorian year and the beginning of a new one.
