#ExplainAFilmPlotBadly Has People Hilariously Misexplaining Plots From Popular Movies

You can always rely on twitter to bring the wit, especially when it relates to hashtag games. One such game is #ExplainAFilmPlotBadly which has seen people, well, explain a film plot badly basically, but to hilarious effect. The summations are brutally succinct, whittling the plot down to its very essence, or just brutally savaging it, or sometimes they make sly reference to current political issues.

For instance, the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy is summed up by someone as "Group spends 9 hours returning jewelry." and the Human Centipede becomes "Small town Doctor brings 3 people closer together"—and when you think about both those explanations, they're true if a little misleading.

Star Wars is explained as a "deadbeat dad tries to get his son to take over the family business." while The Shining is summed up as "A family's first Airbnb experience goes very wrong." If you had never seen or heard or some of these films, maybe you've been living in a cave in the Dagobah system all your life, then they must either sound entirely ridiculous or very intriguing.

There are a many, many descriptions if you scan over the hashtag, lots of them are inspired pieces of comedy. Some of them even point out the paradoxical nature of our current attitudes to immigration.

Some of them are so good you almost wish they were on the movie poster instead of the tagline—or maybe as well as. Actually that's not a bad idea, as well as a tagline each movie should come with its own poorly explained plot in a line of text.

Anyway, we've listed some of our favs below.
