'When Mama Isn't Home'—Father And Son Make Sweet Music Using An Oven Door As Instrument

Depending how much time you spend lurking on the internet rather than actually doing something useful with your time, you may or may not have come across the video titled "When Mama Isn't Home." The video features a father and son in a kitchen, both wearing shades, making sweet, sweet music together.

Dad's playing a trombone while the son has a more unconventional instrument, an oven door. Which he opens and closes in an aggressive manner in time with the trombone while headbanging. It's pretty random, but also somewhat amazing and perfect internet fodder.

Plus, the kid's head turn at the end really elevates things to another level. He's a true pro and will no doubt have a long and illustrious career in head-tilting ahead of him. As he should.

After the video was posted to Reddit then the remixes started coming in. There's an EDM hands-in-the-air remix above which you can start with and some more, below.

1. The obligatory goat remix.

2. Cheesy R&B version.

3. Techno remix

4. And for those that can't get enough of it, the one hour long remix.

And here's the original, which is actually a cover of a song called "Freaks" by Timmy Trumpet & Savage.

And of course there had to be a follow-up and here it is - When Mama Isn't Home Part 2 original oven kid (Darude Sandstorm)
