Called holographic nails it's caught the attention of beauty bloggers and fashionista alike who have become somewhat obsessed with it.
Blogger Kandee Johnson gives an excited overview of it and shows how to achieve the look in the video above. Elsewhere people have been posting their own results to Instagram.
Obviously the look doesn't actually feature real holograms on your nails, we're not that far into the future just yet. That would be pretty awesome though, if somewhat strange.
It instead involves layering your nails and then adding in a glittery holographic powder to complete it and give them that sparkly holo-style character.
The variations are boundless as you'll see below. Plus, who doesn't like shininess when it comes to looking glam? Especially when the sun's shining.
