It was all going so well for Amethyst Amelia Kelly, better known by her stage name Iggy Azalea at the MTV Video Music Awards benefit concert on Friday night while performing her hit 'Fancy' at The Avalon in Los Angeles, until, that is, she fell right off the stage, and as the video above shows, it's was a pretty big tumble and unfortunately for poor Iggy the video of the incident is already going viral.
One wrong step was all it needed to send Iggy Azalea falling into the audience. Crew members quickly rushed to help her as the music kept playing in the background. The video below reveals that Azalea, ever the trooper, jumped right back on stage and continued the song like nothing was wrong, much to the delight of the crowd.
Since Iggy Azalea seems okay, it is easy for both fans and detractors to laugh at the rising star. Security guards quickly pulled Azalea back onto the stage, and she barely missed a beat as Charli XCX joined her for the chart-topping single.
Afterwards Azalea told the crowd she felt “very blessed” that she did not break her legs, she appeared unharmed and in good spirits, even posting a video of the fall on Instagram. Azalea wrote in the caption: “I know I laughed.”
She also posted selfies of her backstage with fellow performers Jennifer Lopez and Rita Ora.
Neither Azalea’s representatives nor MTV immediately responded to emails seeking comment. Tori Kelly and Sam Smith also performed at the event benefiting Lifebeat — Music Fights HIV/AIDS.
Azalea is up for seven awards at the VMAs.
