So the trailer for the new Jem and the Holograms movie was unleashed upon the internet a few days ago, and it hasn't gone down well at all. AT ALL. Fans of the 80s cartoon are furious and rage-filled at what they see as an abomination and travesty upon a show they held dear.
For those of you that don't know, 'Jem', also known as 'Jem and the Holograms', was an American animated television series that ran from 1985 to 1988 in U.S. The series is about music company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, her band the Holograms, and their adventures.
Basically it's taken a giant crap on the TV show fan's memories. No doubt it wasn't the reaction the filmmakers wanted, but that's the age we live in, where people can head online near instantaneously and lay waste to something they don't agree with.
Where are the holograms? People demanded. Where's the Misfits?
The whole 80s vibe seems to be missing too, and outrage is the only response! The good news is though, some of the reactions are pretty damn funny, so here's a few of those.
Christ, even William Shatner was pissed.
