This Portrait Of A New York Neighborhood Is The Perfect Argument For Vertical Videos

OK, we were moaning just the other day about how incredibly annoying it is when people film in portrait instead of landscape.

BUT! There are exceptions and this video is one of them. And it's the perfect argument, perhaps the only argument, of why shooting vertical videos can be a great idea. The video was shot on an iPhone and captures the residential neighborhood of Sunnyside in Queens, New York City.

Shot by Dan Toth as a homage to the area it's a great, creative use of shooting vertically, creating a triptych of images that compliment and reference one another. And, Dan notes, it also gives you the sensation of walking around an urban environment as different scenes pop into view.

You see, this is how you shoot using portrait.
