Dogs Love Nothing More Than Hiking (Or Being Carried) In The Great Outdoors With Their Humans

There are many benefits to donning your walking boots and taking a hike in the great outdoors. And those benefits don't just apply to humans, dogs love to get involved too when it comes to heading out on the trail.

Plus who better to bring along than your best animal friend? Someone who will follow you wherever you go, no questions asked, and add to that will not make a fuss if it rains, gets muddy, and isn't afraid to rough it out for a couple of days without the slightest hint of complaint.

For a traveling companion it sounds too good to be true. Right?

But there are a few things to bear in mind though, safety issues like whether it's too hot, or whether your dog is the right age. If it's old and its joints aren't what they once were, probably best not to take it on a seven mile hike.

But if it's in good health and sprightly, then it will probably adore accompanying you. There is one other thing to consider though (see, i told you it all sounded too good to be true).

As you'll see from these pictures, although dogs might like hiking they also love being carried in backpacks too.

Even though they are up for a long walk sometimes they prefer the elevated view. It's something we'd all like to do when the walking gets too much, so make sure you pack a backpack in case you need to carry your pup.

Or it it's a really big dog, then it might be able to carry it's own weight and maybe some supplies too.

Heck, it may be such an accomplished hiker it even has its own hiking shoes. Hike on!
