Twitter Reacts With Jokes, Mocking, And Glee At Donald Trump's 'Golden Shower' Allegations

It's been a very interesting 24 hours in the world of presidential polotics. The internet and the media have gone into overdrive over an unverified intelligence dossier, controversially published in full by Buzzfeed, that claims that there are deep links between President-elect Donald Trump, his campaign, and the Russian government.

The dozens of claims in the report—which was collated by a former British intelligence agent and has been getting passed around and read by high level politicians and media organizations for months—are said to compromise the president-elect both financially and personally. There's one claim in particular that is rather shocking and scandalous and, therefore, has captured the internet, and Twitter's, imagination.

That claim is that Donald Trump hired prostitutes to urinate on each other in a bed in the presidential suite of the Moscow Ritz-Carlton Hotel, a bed the Obamas had stayed in a few months earlier. Trump had done it to "defile" the bed because he disliked the Obamas so much. The room however was under FSB (the Russian state security agency) control who recorded what happened with concealed cameras and microphones.

It's perhaps the most salacious of various claims that would give Russia an abundance of material which, if true, they could use to blackmail the incoming president.

Of course Trump denies the allegations and so do his team, with Trump's attorney Michael Cohen, telling Mic, "It's so ridiculous on so many levels. Clearly the person who created this did so from their imagination or did so hoping that the liberal media would run with this fake story for whatever rationale they might have."

Russia, too, have denied the claims as fake, "The Kremlin has no compromising information on Trump. This report does not correspond to reality and is nothing but an absolute fiction. This is a total bluff, an absolute fabrication, complete nonsense." Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday. With Trump due to partake in his first press conference on Wednesday at 11AM EDT it should now make for even more interesting speech.

Still, true or not, a little thing like verifying the truth, or for that matter debating the ethics of publishing unverified documents, isn't going to stand in the way of Twitter having a lot of fun with the idea of Trump and golden showers.

As Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker said in a tweet, it's a bit like that time a few year's back when former British Prime Minster David Cameron was accused, again unsubstantiated, of putting his dick in a dead pig's mouth—but this is even crazier.

Then, of course, Brooker couldn't resist a couple of jokes:

And, much like the David Cameron incident, fake or not, Twitter couldn't resist a joke either, because it was too good an opportunity to pass up. So, jokes and mocking humor about pee, golden showers, and urinating washed down as, um, everyone couldn't hold it in any longer.
