'The Chickening' Is A Totally Insane Poultry-laden Remix Of Kubrick's 'The Shining'

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining gets a makeover that will leave you, um, clucking. For in this remix by Nick DenBoer and Davy Force things take a turn for the poultry. Called The Chickening the pair call it "the first of its kind in remixed, augmented cinema."

It certainly has a unique take on the film, where the spooky hotel from Stephen King’s novel becomes a fast food chicken resort called Charbay's Chicken World which sits on an active volcano.

In this fan made assault on your senses Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) take a position as senior chief night manager for the resort while Torrance’s wife, Wendy, has something weird going on with her eyes. Their son Danny has changed from the original to become a 42-year old "manchild" and very freaky-looking he is too.

The narrative follows Torrance as he tastes Charbay’s new experimental BBQ sauce called The Shiney which has a shocking effect, transforming him into a man-chicken. This forces a "hyperdimensional alien” called Scatmok, man-child Danny, and an Italian man called Tony that lives on Danny's finger to take drastic action. The rest is just plain crazy. It's truly, well, special.

In the words of DenBoer and Force, "The Shining has been artfully transformed into a new, poultry-infused comedy adventure by digitally altering the film to create a new narrative. This new style of filmmaking is a hilarious collision of classic films with modern day visual effects; “Cinegraffiti”—the ultimate neonostalgic visual feast for this digital age."
