Hank Azaria Delivers Commencement Speech In The Voices Of His Simpsons Characters

If you have ever attended university then you will probably be aware that commencement speeches are given to inspire the graduating students and deliver some pearls of wisdom to them that they can carry with them throughout their lives as they start their big adventure in the real world.

Or at the very least deliver something that doesn't make them fall asleep in the first minute (see David Foster Wallace's legendary speech to Kenyon College class of 2005 for how to do it right).

Hank Azaria, voice of numerous Simpsons characters (and actor), ups the game though when he delivered his commencement speech for Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Because towards the end of his speech he delivered some life advice in the voices of some of the characters he voices on the show.

So the students get Chief Wiggum telling their how to get out of an arrest, they learn that Moe "majored in not getting hit by cars," Apu gives some advice on becoming an entrepreneur, and Comic Book Guy delivers a metaphor about Star Wars.

"Life is like the Star Wars movies." Comic Book Guy/Azaria says. "Some of it is great, some of it sucks, but you have no choice but to sit through all of it—very similar to the commencement speech you are listening to now."

As if that wouldn't be enough, after the fun Azaria rounds off the speech with some serious words regarding being honest with yourself, self-worth, and how acting taught him to follow his instincts.

Best. Commencement Speech. Ever.
